Christian Care

The importance of early childhood education for the child's later success in life has been well documented. It is the time when children begin their life-long encounter with the world, themselves and others. We make Jesus the focus and foundation of our program.

The St. Andrew Difference

We recognize that every family and child is unique. Our goal is to provide a positive environment that encourages a diverse group of families and children to grow and develop in their individual ways while experiencing a community spirit.
St. Andrew continues to recognize the distinction between practical learning and Christian education. Education is learning structured by values. Teaching methods come and go, but Christian education and Christian values endure.

Loyalty is a Trademark

Many who begin as infants leave as Pre-K graduates.

Stages

Every child goes through similar developmental stages. The problem for early childcare providers is that children often reach different stages at different ages. Age is always a factor, but an Infant can only speak to us through its behavior. This means that an infant's stage can be more important than its age when grouping infants. The practical point is that an infant will change classes, or groups, at monthly intervals. The tension between age and stage does not disappear when a child turns two.

Curriculum

Early childcare providers have overlapping responsibilities. They are not there to teach so much as to interact and encourage the child as it becomes aware of its inborn capacity to walk and talk, to build and play, and to take delight in science and stories. Emphasis on fair-play is also part of a complete childcare program. The program includes a good curriculum that is presented with energy and enthusiasm by our staff.

Staff

This is why teachers are so important. At St. Andrew we seek out experienced teachers who love being with children and who enjoy teaching, correcting, and encouraging them.

The director organizes and coordinates and has final say on the curriculum. She encourages And evaluates the staff. She cleans toilets, Wipes tears and cleans noses… She makes Sure the trains run on time. If something is Wrong, call the director. In short, Directors Matter!

Our History

St. Andrew Early Childhood Center opened in October of 1992 to meet the increasing congregational and community need for quality Christian child care. Beginning with an enrollment of 13 children, offering preschool, Mother's Day Out (MDO), and full-time daycare, the center quickly outgrew its four classrooms. Recognizing the need to expand not only the facility, but also the programs.

The congregation implemented an after school care program for kindergarten through fifth graders, and added additional space for infant care. The facility is fully licensed by the State of Texas and has a cafeteria, a
kitchen and a wonderful shaded playground.

If you do not have a place to worship on Sundays, we invite you to join us at 9:30 am for worship. We love having kids wiggle and move during worship! If you choose to became a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and attend worship regularly, a discount to your tuition can be applied.
